Prayer Is the Solution For YOU!

Prayer is the waiting miracle that begins with the believer. Many times prayer begins with problems. Prayer is not merely the means getting something from God but the process of getting to know God. We get to know God by His Word and through our prayers. The problem is that we have failed to acknowledge the great need for prayer. How often have you been in a church meeting and heard some say, “Well, let’s pray so we can get down to business”? PRAYER IS OUR BUSINESS!!

Prayer is the key that prepares us for the days ahead. Most people do not view prayer that way. We wait until the point of desperation and say, “We’ve got to pray!” We are on the threshold of revival. I know that because of the amount of pressure to keep us from praying-the warfare that distracts us and the urgent things that crowd out the essential. When Jesus was on the eve of the greatest spiritual victory in history, He was found in prayer. On the other hand, the disciples neglected the warning and were unprepared when the hour approached.

Prayer is the key that protects us from the attacks of Satan. Prayer is the battleground on which we impose the victory that has already been won for us at Calvary. Ephesians 6:10 - 18 describes being dressed for battle. However, it is one thing to be dressed for the battle and another to know where the war is being fought. Prayer thwarts Satan like nothing else we can do. He has no defense against prayer, for prayer takes you off the battlefield doing hand-to-hand combat and puts the LORD In your place.

Prayer is the key that empowers us to do God’s will. We are empowered by surrendering our wills to God’s. “Not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42, NIV). This simple matter of surrendering our wills to God’s will is difficult for most of us. Yet failing to surrender will keep us from being the type of individual God wants us to be and the type of church God wants us to be.

Hear me, Lord, when I call to You! Be merciful and answer me. Psalms 27:7
